Why do some people learn languages faster than others?

logo new #2Listen to and download these podcasts from the iTunes Store here, our Soundcloud channel here or from this section of the blog.

This is the first The TEFL Show podcast, in which, among other things, we discuss questions such as:

  • why are some language learners more successful than others?
  • what’s the importance of comprehensible input in L2 learning?
  • is it important to make students produce the target language in class?
  • how important is it to immerse yourself in the language you’re learning?

We’d love to hear what you thought about the points raised in the discussion. What’s your language learning experience been like? Is it all about comprehensible input? What about the output, i.e. how important for learning is it that students actually produce the target chunks? We’re looking forward to your comments.

If there are any topics you would like us to focus on in the future podcasts, send us a message here, or comment below. You can find out more about our teaching experience and background from the About section.
